AKSHAYA CATERING, a proprietary concern at Tripunithura, Kerala, established way back in 1994 with all infrastructures for preparation of food stuff on a grand scale. Being a founder of the concern Mr. Krishna Iyer, an ITI Degree holder, started his career in cooking initially under the guidance of an expert cook, Late Shri Hari Thampan of Tripunithura, who had earned name and fame and had achieved many laurels in culinary art. Mr. Krishna Iyer learned the basic methods of cooking from Shri Hari Thampan. Cooking has been his family tradition. His grandfather, Late Shri Subhaiya Iyer was the main cook for the then Kochi Royal family. Thus, Mr. Krishna Iyer has become an expert in culinary art. By dint of hard work, his confidence in standing on his own legs grew to such an extent over the years that he embarked upon the business of catering in the name of AKSHAYA CATERING.
The food preparation here is kept strict to high standards on food safety, hygiene with emphasis on environment protection. Akshaya initially accepted contracts for supplying vegetarian foodstuffs/dishes for small functions. Thereafter, AKSHAYA ventured into taking large volume of work successfully and now AKSHAYA is sought after for many major functions from all parts of Kerala.The growth of AKSHAYA in the field of catering is illustrated by AKSHAYA accepting some of the major contracts for supply of foods/dishes, apart from marriage and other domestic functions, as stated below.
This festival was held for 5 days and on each day about 5000 people including students, parents, teachers, officials, media persons and others connected with the festival had attended. On each day different varieties of food were prepared and served from breakfast to dinner. In recognition of the expert services rendered by AKSHAYA, Mr. Krishna Iyer was specially honoured with an Award on the concluding day of the festival by the then Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri E K Nayanar.
Fully satisfied with the catering services rendered by AKSHAYA during the 1997 Yuvajanostsavam held at Kochi, AKSHAYA was called upon to render catering services for the festival held in 1998 also. The Hon'ble Minister suitably recognized Shri Krishna Iyer for his splendid performance for Education, Govt. of Kerala, and Shri P J Joseph.
A similar youth festival was held at Kollam and AKSHAYA was again called upon to render catering services for the invitees attending therein. AKSHAYA did cater to those attended in a very satisfactory manner.
AKSHAYA organized the famous UTHRAM THIRUNAL Feast of SREE POORNATHRAYEESA Temple at Tripunithura consecutively during 2001 and 2002 for nearly 20,000 devotees.
AKSHAYA rendered catering services to the members of the Canara Bank Employees Association at their Convention held at Ernakulam in 1998 which function lasted for four days, where both South Indian and North Indian dishes were served, from breakfast to dinner.
A Good News Festival (Spiritual Conference) organized by the Christian Community was held at Kochi in 1998 where more than 25000 persons from all over the World had attended and, looking to the popularity and efficiency of Akshaya, it was called upon to render vegetarian food to those who attended the said Conference that lasted for five days.
The food for the Anna Danam on the Arattu Day of the Chakkankulangara Siva Temple festival is prepared and served by AKSHAYA since last five years for about 10,000 devotees.
In addition, ONAM feast at Rama Varma Club, Century Club, and Dolphin Club and at different Banks and Govt. offices are conducted by AKSHAYA.
